55 years has passed since the opening of our Junior College, founded the same year as Fukuoka High School of Nutrition Studies in 1954. The University Faculty of Home Economics was opened 44 years ago in 1965.

At present, the University Junior College runs Department of Dietary and Nutritional Sciences, Department of Career Development and Department of Child Care. The University has three faculties, namely Faculty of Nutritional Sciences, Faculty of Human Development and Faculty of Distribution Sciences. In addition, we have Master’s Course at all these faculties, and Doctoral Course at the Faculty of Nutritional Sciences. In the age of lifelong learning and advanced study we created the Recommendation System for Admission to each University Faculty from Junior College.
To conform to the ideas “Awareness of who we are, act upon clear principals, thankfulness, study in earnest”, “Your body speaks your mind”, “Thinking high of integrated life and scholarship in education, research” that are part of our leading principal we combine organically character-formation, socio-education, liberal arts and professional education for the highest possible degree of our students’ satisfaction. Our 30000 Junior College and 10000 University graduates fostered in the spirit of the leading principal work in as divergent professions as national registered dietitian, nutritionist, elementary school and kindergarten teacher, children’s nurse, civil servant and in various fields such banks, trading companies, distributive trades.
Other than our original undertaking to provide intelligent information and human resources, we actively participate in inter- university, junior college and affiliated research institutions’ projects; in regional projects, in the operations of industry-academic-government cooperation; and international exchange activities.
